Northwestern Implements State-of-the-Art Imaging Technology

Partnership with Lake Superior X-Ray Produces $75,000 Donation

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Northwestern Health Sciences University recently converted from plain film imaging to digital technology for X-rays. The new technology offers the best possible imaging capabilities for patients in Northwestern’s clinics, ultimately resulting in better care.

The upgrade was made possible through the University’s relationship with Lake Superior X-Ray, the company that supplies and maintains the radiology equipment at Northwestern. Lake Superior X-Ray donated one new X-ray unit for the University’s Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies. They also negotiated with state-of-the-art imaging company Fujifilm Global to donate one digital imaging unit, and provided a significant discount on two additional digital imaging units. The total donation is valued at more than $75,000.

Combined with our partnership with the Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) the transition was inevitable. We’re grateful for the partnership and generosity of Lake Superior X-ray and Fujifilm in helping to make this an affordable endeavor.”

Northwestern Health Sciences University offers a wide array of choices in natural health care education including chiropractic, Oriental medicine, acupuncture, therapeutic massage and human biology. The University has nearly 1,000 students on a 25-acre campus in Bloomington, Minnesota.
