Kate Anderson, NCTMB,
is a nationally certified massage therapist with
specialized training in Neuromuscular Therapy
and Active Isolated Stretching. She is a faculty
clinician at the Highland Natural Care Center
and is a clinical supervisor and instructor for
the School of Massage Therapy. Anderson received
her training from the Cascade Institute of Massage
Therapy in Eugene, Oregon, in 2000. She has recently
returned to school seeking a degree in Exercise
Science and Physical Therapy. "I have returned
to school to gain a better understanding of the
movement of the human body. I hope someday to
use my massage therapy background in the world
of conventional medicine to help individuals treat
chronic pain with maintenance, rehabilitation,
and preventive measures. I believe that massage
therapy is effective for relieving and managing
chronic pain and should be more readily available
to the community."
She has backpacked through Thailand, learning
about the different styles of bodywork and healing.
She enjoys hiking, skiing, walking her dog, reading,
working with stained-glass, traveling, and volunteering.
