Barbara Gosse, MSOM,
LAc, is an acupuncturist and Oriental medicine
practitioner at the Bloomington Natural Care
Center. Barbara has more than a dozen years of
experience as an acupuncturist and Oriental medicine
practitioner with Hennepin Faculty Associates
in Minneapolis. She has worked extensively in
a variety of diverse settings, including at Hennepin
County Medical Center in the internal medicine
division, treating patients in surgical ICU,
pediatric ICU, and high risk labor and delivery.
She also treated patients in a number of drug
treatment facilities, and worked with women in
a state prison facility.
Barbara has supervised student interns in the
Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine’s teaching clinics. She is also
trained in therapeutic massage, having worked
as massage therapist for more than a decade in
New Mexico and Minnesota.
She received her Master of Science in Oriental
Medicine degree from Southwest Acupuncture College
in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
“Oriental Medicine was a natural progression
of study for me,” explains Gosse. “Prior
to being a practitioner of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM), I was a massage therapist for
15 years. But I wanted to practice health care
in a deeper manner, and felt my choices were
medical school, or the study of TCM. Traditional
Chinese Medicine won out because I knew I would
not be able to provide the kind of patient care
I am interested in if I practiced allopathic
medicine.” |
