Mei Wang, PhD, TCMD,
LAc, is a licensed acupuncturist and Oriental
medicine practitioner at the Bloomington Natural
Care Center. Wang graduated in 1986 from Henan
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China)
with a bachelor’s degree in Traditional
Chinese Medicine and in 1999, she was awarded
a master’s degree. In 2002, she received
a PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Shangdong
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China).
In addition to headache and pain management,
Wang specializes in the treatment of a variety
of health care problems, including allergies,
women’s health issues (infertility, fibrocystic
disease, morning sickness), emotional problems
(depression, insomnia, compulsive thinking),
fatigue syndrome, decreased immunity, gastrointestinal
disorders (heart burn, constipation), and skin
conditions (hives, eczema, neurodermatitis).
Wang feels it is important for her clients to
know that acupuncture and Oriental medicine represents
the accumulations of thousands of years of experience
and practical knowledge gathered by the Chinese
people in their long historical struggle against
disease. Acupuncture is founded on a theoretical
system that is guided by holism, an understanding
of the function of organs, and an energetic framework
of acupuncture meridians (energy channels). |
