Northwestern community moving forward, inspired by late president

The students, staff, faculty and board of Northwestern Health Sciences University are committed to maintaining the sense of energy and bold direction set by Jeff Nelson in his six months as President and CEO.
In comments shared in campus meetings and gatherings throughout the week, Board members and University leaders offered reassurance that Northwestern's leadership remains committed to the re-energized vision formed in recent months. “We will work diligently during this time of transition to maintain our momentum and reach new heights together as a university and health community,” said Dr. Kent Erickson, chair of the Board of Trustees and Acting President.
During his time at Northwestern, Mr. Nelson created collaborative teams bridging all levels of the organization to define an Audacious Goal and Foundation Statement. A second group of 84 staff, student and faculty volunteers, the Audacious Leap Group, prepared recommendations for how to implement our Audacious Goal. That work will be continued, with the next stage being an analysis of resources and priorities.
“In a short time, Mr. Nelson inspired leadership, trust and a sense of hope for the future of our campus,” said Dr. Christina Frazier, chief of staff.
