Effective November 15, 2013, the Career Services team of Susie Biwer and Wendy Ruchti will relocate to the Student Affairs department under the leadership of Emily Tweed, PhD, dean of student affairs and enrollment management. The new, combined department aims to provide support and resources to enhance the student experience at Northwestern and after graduation, including:

  • Academic support services such as peer tutoring, developing study skills, success coaching, faculty mentoring
  • Clubs and organizations
  • Personal counseling
  • Disability support services
  • International student support
  • Veterans benefits
  • Career counseling
  • Practice success seminars, consultants, and classifieds
  • Career fair

The Alumni Services and Fund Development teams will come together under the leadership of Debbie Peterson, Executive Director of Alumni Services. This group will focus on enhancing alumni and other stakeholder relationships, encouraging connections that will increase volunteering, student referrals and donations.

“It's about nurturing relationships to better serve our students,” said Xaulanda Simmonds-Emmanuel, chief of system services. “By improving engagement with alumni and others we can significantly expand our reach world-wide.”
