Cash Back Program Available at Becker Furniture World

Posted on April 28, 2008

Students, faculty and alumni can earn cash for Northwestern Health Sciences University and a discount for themselves by purchasing their furniture at Becker Furniture World.

The cash back program, Take 5 Give 5, gives Northwestern 3 percent of all sales purchased by customers with a Northwestern affiliation within 30 days of delivery. Friends and family are also eligible to use the Northwestern cash program.

Becker also offers a 5 percent discount to the customer on furniture, mattresses and accessories for using the cash back program.

“This partnership works because both of our organizations have a vested interested in the advancement of modern health sciences and realize that more can be accomplished by working together toward that goal,” said Rob Glynn of Becker Furniture World.

Glynn said Becker owner Doug Huseby emphasizes employee health including chiropractic and massage services. Huseby was honored in 2005 as a “Champion for Coroporate Wellness” by the National Health Freedom Coalition.

Debbie Peterson, director of alumni, development and career services at Northwestern, said the partnership is great way for the University to raise funds while providing an advantage for alumni and friends.

“I think it offers benefit to our alumni while it also helps raise some dollars for the capital campaign,” she said. “It’s been a great relationship with Becker. They have been very generous with their donations.”

After the program has generated $100,000 in sales, an additional 2 percent will be retroactively paid to the University on the previous sales as well as 5 percent on all sales for the duration of the program.

“The program has generated a lot of excitement,” Glynn said. “The program has generated a lot of excitement. We have received many requests from alumnae for additional cards to distribute to their clients, friends and family. Ultimately, its success will depend on the passion and excitement each of us has surrounding this great program.”
