Employee Council Busy Planning for Holiday Events

Posted on Oct. 26, 2009

The Employee Council at Northwestern Health Sciences University has been busy planning a few events that are annual holiday traditions on campus.

The Fall Craft Fair will be held Nov. 18, 2009, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the foyer, and features a variety of crafters selling their wares. Table space is still available. The fee is just $15 and you keep your earnings. Contact Brenda Ruples, assistant controller, at ext. 246, for more information.

The Bake Sale is held in conjunction with the Craft Fair. Volunteers are needed to bring in baked goods and to help sell the items. The Bake Sale is Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Contact Lynne Heafey, clinic billing specialist, at ext. 433 if you can help with baking or sales.

The annual Holiday Party for Northwestern staff and faculty will take place Dec. 11 in the cafeteria and foyer, from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A full dinner, including appetizers and drinks, will be served. Warm up your voice, and plan to stay for the Karaoke and prizes. Check your e-mail for the Evite invitation.

“The Employee Council works throughout the year to increase employee communication and interaction between NWHSU's administration, departments, and individuals,” says Anne Mackareth, MA, assistant professor, public services librarian, and Employee Council President.

“You needn't be a Council member to get involved!” Mackareth adds. “We can use your help at these upcoming events and others during the coming year. It’s a fun way to meet people from outside your department, and helps bring the Northwestern community closer together.”
