Northwestern Employees Earn Kudos for Going Above and Beyond at Work

Posted on Oct. 8, 2009

For many employees at Northwestern Health Sciences University, doing a good job means more than just showing up for work each day.   The employee recognition program recognizes Northwestern employees for demonstrating dedication and excellence in their work. Each month, supervisors and coworkers can nominate other employees for superior performance. In September 2009, seven employees were nominated for going above and beyond in their work.

Nominated employees receive a certificate and memo to their supervisor, and are entered into a drawing for a variety of prizes. Employee of the month prize winners for August were Karol Sullivan, patient services coordinator (Best Buy gift card); Andy Hoppin, director of financial aid (employee parking spot); Debbie Miller, associate vice president of clinical services (Rainbow gift card); and Pam Anderson, chiropractic department secretary (Target gift card).

Other employees nominated in September included: Thai Xiong, help desk specialist; Andrea Kodner-Wenzel, chief information officer; and Vanessa Feils, administrative assistant for alumni, development and career services.

Employees can be nominated for demonstrating teamwork; exceeding customer expectations and dedication; outstanding leadership; and more. You can find the online nomination form for the employee recognition program here.
