Student Volunteers Needed for F4CP Alumni Telefund Competition

Posted on June 25, 2009

The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) is recruiting Northwestern student volunteers to help raise money for an Alumni Telefund. Chiropractic students Elizabeth Meliski and Sarah Hjersjo are coordinating the effort at Northwestern. An information meeting about the F4CP Alumni Telefund will be held today, June 25, at 5 p.m. in the Cafeteria Conference Room.

F4CP is an organization dedicated to increasing public awareness on the benefits of chiropractic. The primary mission is an aggressive public relations campaign which includes celebrity endorsements, as well as print ads in the “Wall Street Journal” and other major media. Every chiropractic school, 48 state associations, and both national associations support F4CP. Hundreds of doctors and students make monthly contributions supporting the effort.

The Foundation is holding the Alumni Telefund to increase monthly contributions, with a goal of reaching 1,000 contributors by July 12, 2009. The added resources will go toward the public relations campaign in hopes of raising additional awareness of the benefits of chiropractic as discussions on health care reform ramp up.

Student volunteers will receive 50 percent of the first month’s donation for each monthly contribution commitment they secure. Students can also team up to see which team can raise the most money, with a prize for the winning team. Students are encouraged to visit the F4CP website to learn more about the organization, and to come to the meeting to learn more about Alumni Telefund. For more information e-mail Sarah Hjersjo.
