Northwestern will Host Annual Citywide Halloween Party
Posted on Oct. 22, 2009
This year, Halloween will bring a slew of little ghouls to campus. Northwestern Health Sciences University, The Bloomington Optimists’ Club, and the City of Bloomington are joining together to Brady Bird host the Bloomington Citywide Halloween Party. Children ages pre-school through 4th grade are invited to join in the fun on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The entertainment will take place at Northwestern in the foyer and cafeteria, and includes carnival games with prizes, balloon twisters, a coloring contest, a magician and trick-or-treating. Northwestern’s mascot, Vinnie the Vertebrate, will be in attendance along with Sharkey, the Mall of America mascot, and Nordy from the Minnesota Wild. Ryan Chapman, community relations coordinator, said the expected turnout is about 600 children and parents.
Volunteers and work study/student help students are encouraged to participate in this event by helping with set-up, running the games, awarding prizes, and cleaning up after the party. Volunteers are needed from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and dinner will be provided before the party begins. Kid-friendly costumes are encouraged!
