The Value of Demographic Factors in Opening a Successful Practice: Part XV, Putting it All Together – Your Dream Location

Your journey began with curiosity, which leads you to the Chiromap and its 3,400 counties in the United States. The Chiromap showed you the ideal chiropractic population to DC ratios in all these counties. After selecting several promising sites, you consulted the Internet, county and zip code, and ranking data. The eight essential chiropractic demographic factors gave you the facts you needed. After weighing these facts and selecting a number of promising sites, you considered your office design and its capacity, and what procedures you would use to handle patients at the peak hours. Your office visibility and accessibility along with your sign were important factors. As you look at the demographic facts and you fit them to your geographical site, you realize that perhaps there were several geographical and natural barriers that might affect patient access.

Visiting the most promising sites determines the attitude of the community towards chiropractors along with the characteristics of the chiropractors in this community and their facilities. Is this a magnet community that houses the county seat? The most important characteristic of a magnet community is an upscale hospital that attracts patients to an array of health care professionals. These patients are attracted ultimately to you. Does this community have a large discount store, shopping mall, and other specialty shops? Does it have a college, churches, and sports facilities that can enrich your life? It would be nice to locate in a beautiful city with wonderful hunting and fishing nearby but you really can’t eat the scenery. By now you have discussed all of these factors with your family and friends, and I hope you find it easy to make up your choice of a dream location. Have a great life.
