Get in the Game and Unwind at Summer Jam 2009

Posted on June 24, 2009

Start brushing up on your volleyball skills, because Summer Jam 2009 is right around the corner! The fun will begin with music, games, prizes, food, and fun, right here on campus in the west fields on June 26 at 5 p.m.

Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, and kickball tournaments will begin at 5 p.m. Chris Remitz and Evergreen Foods will provide burgers, veggie burgers, beans, coleslaw, and fruit from 6-8 p.m. Slip ‘n’ Slide will also be set up. The DJ will play until 10 p.m., so don’t forget your dancing shoes!

“This year the event will be just after midterms, rain or shine.” says Jeremy Faue, chiropractic student and chair of the Student Senate Social committee. “It’s the perfect time and place to blow off steam, hang out with classmates, and not worry about the next test.”

Why should you attend? “Because it's a great way to relax and have fun with your classmates without having books in front of you,” says Kristin Rogney, chiropractic student and chair of the Student Senate Athletic Committee. “It's also a great time to show off your athletic and dancing skills!”

Faue says he hopes that 400 to 500 students, staff, faculty, and any significant others or family members will attend. “We hope everyone will come. Staff and faculty should feel welcome to play in any of the tournaments as well. Just contact Rogney at krogney@nwhealth.edu if you’re interested.”
