Summer Jam Offers Plenty of Fun in the Sun

Posted on June 29, 2009

The weather was flawless for the fierce competition at Summer Jam on June 26, 2009. Northwestern Health Sciences University students, staff, and faculty did not hold back as they competed in Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, and volleyball tournaments. Kristin Rogney, chiropractic student and athletic committee chair for Student Senate coordinated the athletic activities. “The sports went fairly well,” she said. “Everyone played very hard. There were several teams who were playing multiple sports, so some people were playing game after game all day long. We have some troopers in our school for sure! They all seemed to be having a great time.” Two-time winner “Team PomPom” won both the Ultimate Frisbee and kickball tournaments, and “Crack Addicts” won the volleyball tournament.

Those who attended Summer Jam also enjoyed the talents of chiropractic students Adam Favro and Chad Paulson, who provided DJ entertainment for the event. A Slip ‘n Slide was set up for enjoyment in the hot weather. Food was provided by Chris Remitz and Evergreen Foods.
