Seeing the Signs of Summer at Northwestern

Posted on Aug. 12, 2009

The temperature outside finally feels like a Minnesota summer. Even if the weather hadn’t turned hot and sweltering, you could still see the signs of summer in the halls of Northwestern Health Sciences University.

Backpacks lined up against the walls outside of classrooms are a sure sign that a final exam is going on. Final exams are taking place through Aug. 13; and the School of Massage Therapy and the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM) will hold commencement ceremonies on Aug. 15, 2009. There is no College of Chiropractic commencement for Summer term.

No classes will be held during summer break, which runs from Aug. 17 – Sept. 7. University offices and clinics will be open, with most offices closing at noon on Fridays from Aug. 15 through Sept. 4.

Another sure sign of summer on campus is the excited middle- and high-school students attending the Summer Science Academy. The Academy is in full swing, thanks to the Northwestern student and staff volunteers who are helping make it a great experience for approximately 125 students enrolled this year.
