Health Hero Saved from Faux-Tree by Chiropractic Student
Posted on March 25, 2009
In the longest ever “Where’s Vinnie?” hunt, the health hero was finally discovered by Dustin Rising, chiropractic student, after the release of the 10th and final clue on March 18. Vinnie was found hiding in the moss at the base of an indoor faux-tree in the fireside lounge. “I destroyed half the campus looking for him,” claims Rising.
“Dustin was crazy about finding Vinnie,” agrees Lafe Nelson, chiropractic student and a friend of Rising. “He was skipping classes to search all over the building for the vertebrae.”
The search caused such a commotion that students started playing tricks on one another by hiding false Vinnies. Rising’s technique was to spend less time analyzing the clues each week, and more time physically searching campus. Zachary Zachman, DC, Northwestern professor, says, “It was fun watching Dustin look for Vinnie. The kid was just a machine!”
Although Rising could have spent a little extra time studying for the boards, he had fun looking in every nook and cranny of Northwestern’s campus for Vinnie. Luckily, all of that search time paid off – literally. As the winner of the contest, Rising received a $100 Visa gift card. “I’ll put that money toward retaking part three of the board exams,” jokes Rising. “But seriously,” he adds, “I think I’ll use it to buy an island resort in Fiji.”
