Victoria L. Huitt

I am an associate professor at the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University. I am also a supervising clinician for the University’s teaching clinics.

My interest in health care began while working with women, children and families as a social worker in the public health field. I realized that my greatest satisfaction came from educating those I worked with on how to find and use resources to better their own health and well-being. That discovery led to acupuncture and Oriental medicine training, and internships that satisfied my passion to provide public health care, treat patients with addictions, and work with patients who have contracted HIV and AIDS.

My goal in working with patients and in supervising student interns is to teach the patient to take charge of their health through the use of acupuncture and Oriental medicine treatments, education, and resources in the community.

While I enjoy providing relief to patients with pain, I especially like working with women’s disorders, headache conditions, emotional/mental health issues and addictions. I am an active volunteer with the Aliveness Project in Minneapolis, a center of support for people living with HIV/AIDS, where I also supervise student interns in providing Oriental medicine to members of the project.
