SMT2935:HOSPTIAL BASED MASSAGE THERAPY - LECTURE

This course prepares students for working in a hospital setting. Techniques that allow massage for medically frail patients and explanation of common medical conditions and symptoms will enable the student to work confidently in the highly complex and sometimes mystifying medical setting. The course will consist of an 15-hour didactic portion, which will cover the fundamentals of working as a massage therapist in hospital setting. This will be followed up by a 22-hour clinical rotation at a Twin Cities hospital.
