Functional Analysis Club
Meetings: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. 6:00-8:00pm Room 203

Presidents: Regina Brott

Advisor: Dr. Novak

Purpose Statement:

Functional Analysis Technique upholds function, rather than structure, as the means of assessing state of health. Because breathing is of utmost importance for survival, a neurological program that creates efficient breathing can free up resources for lower priority programs that were not available with an inefficient breathing response. Knowing that the thalamus, the 'switchboard' of the CNS, functions through inhibition of neural programs and uses energy from a limited supply to do so, resources made available by a more efficient breathing program can be used to inhibit programs such as chronic pain or improper immune function, for example, that were necessary for survival at some point in the past but remain because the resources to inhibit the program have not been available.
