Commencement speaker

Dr. Courtney Jordan Baechler graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Mathematics. She then went on to medical school, internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship, and obtained a master’s degree in epidemiology and public policy at the University of Minnesota. Leadership roles have included the national prevention committee for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) as well as the Minnesota Department of Health State Prevention of Cardiovascular and Stroke Committee.

She has served as a consultant to the Statewide Health Improvement Plan and chair of the clinical work group for Minneapolis. She is an author of the Healthy Lifestyle Guideline for the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI). She is a preventive cardiologist and the executive sponsor of population health. She is currently vice president of the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing and the chair of the prevention and wellness clinical service line at Allina Health.
