The extern is
able to negotiate a learning plan that allows a focus on
the specific needs and interests that will best prepare the
individual for graduation, licensure, and practice. There
are no set learning objectives or requirements for this term
(beyond what is stated under Requirements), since many students
will be in placements in states/provinces that restrict the
scope of practice for students. However, it is expected that
the extern will have as broad and well-rounded an educational
experience as possible, and that the extern will continue
to working towards mastering the clinical competencies established
throughout their clinical education. By the end of the 10th
