Nita J. Champion, ND, is a naturopathic doctor at the Natural Care Center at Woodwinds. Prior to joining Woodwinds, Dr. Champion and her husband owned a successful private naturopathic practice in Arizona. In addition to her practice, she reviews research and writes reports on complementary and alternative medicine therapies for clients of a private health advisory company. Dr. Champion also has experience as an instructor in anatomy and physiology, mechanics of kinesiology, and ethics and communication, at Cortiva Institute School of Massage Therapy (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Dr. Champion graduated from the University of Minnesota – Morris with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry. She earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (Tempe, Ariz.). She trained with a number of naturopathic experts. She treats patients of all ages who have a variety of health concerns using clinical nutrition and botanical medicine. Some common conditions treated by Dr. Champion include depression, anxiety, hypertension, high cholesterol, infertility, hypothyroidism, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
When Dr. Champion is not practicing, she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking and camping with her husband, who is also a doctor of naturopathic medicine. She enjoys cooking and sharing new healthy recipes with her patients and friends. |
