Learn in our innovative Human Performance Center

While pursuing your chiropractic schooling at NWHSU, you’ll have the opportunity to learn in our innovative Human Performance Center (HPC).

The HPC is a specialty clinic for sports and performance clinical care, where you’ll engage in providing chiropractic care, rehabilitation services, strength conditioning, sideline care/event coverage, pre-participation physicals, and concussion assessments. Your experience in the HPC will prepare you for a career working with professional athletes—and any patients who want to move without pain.

As you advance through the Sports & Rehabilitation Emphasis, in trimester 7 you’ll start working in active care, incorporating movement and rehabilitation into patient treatment plans.

When you begin internships in trimesters 8–10, you can work in our HPC, helping to treat high-level athletes and high school students. Our HPC offers integrative care, as you’ll partner with NWHSU Massage Therapy students and our Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine students to provide team care.

Your supervisors will be experts who actively work in the field. Your patients could include the Minnesota Vixen, the Minnesota Freeze, and U.S.A. Tug of War.

All Sports & Rehabilitation Emphasis electives are developed and taught by experts in the field. You’ll learn from practitioners like Dr. Andrew Klein, director of the HPC and International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) education chair.

You’ll gain valuable experience as you study under our accomplished faculty.

As an intern in the Human Performance Center, you could work with high school athletes and high-performance teams. Current teams include the Minnesota Vixen, the Minnesota Freeze, U.S.A. Tug of War, NFL alumni, Minnesota Alliance Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Crossfit, the Minnesota Vipers, Cougars Ultimate Frisbee, Drag’n Thrust Ultimate Frisbee, and Minnesota Star Power Ultimate Frisbee.
