About Robert E. Hardy

Dr. Robert Hardy is a Minnesota Licensed Psychologist with a board competency in pain management.  For the past eight years, he has been very active in the chiropractic community: lecturing, consulting and teaching courses on pain management and lifestyle issues.  Dr. Hardy has been a clinic director and psychologist with various chronic pain programs.  Currently, he is an adjunct professor at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Dr. Hardy received his doctorate degree in counseling from Western Michigan University, where he was a Mott Foundation Scholar.  In 1991, he co-authored SELF-DEFEATING BEHAVIORS (Harper/Collins) the book is considered the classic work on why/how people repeat counterproductive behaviors.  In 1996, he co-authored the SELF-DEFEATING ORGANIZATION (Addison/Wesley) applying his models to teams, groups and organizations.

Description: As a practitioner, you see how effective clinical care can be impeded by a patient's unhealthy life style choices and inappropriate pain management. Using a step-by-step approach learn how to find and practice the kinds of healthy, life-enhancing  behaviors that can be used in place of the habitual techniques that lead to self-defeat and unhappiness.   You can teach patients a better way to correct what has been “wrong” with their lives and allow them to discover the energy and strength that lies untapped within them.
