NWHSU is a champion of evidence informed practice, which we define as the art of combining high quality research, patient preferences and clinical expertise to inform patient care. Whether through core curriculum, elective courses, or modeled in our clinics, we prepare our students to be high level consumers of research, using the latest information to improve patient care.

CAM Research Education Partnership Project

NWHSU was one of a limited number of institutions to receive $1.5 million in funding from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) for our research education programs. The result was the CAM Research Education Partnership Project, a collaboration between NWHSU and the University of Minnesota, where educational programs and resources were developed to increase the research literacy skills of our campus community, and beyond.
