Northwestern celebrates 75th anniversary in style

Hundreds of members of Northwestern's extended family—including alumni, faculty, staff, students and community partners—came out to celebrate the university's 75th anniversary.

After 75 years, the extended family of Northwestern Health Sciences University has more than a few members.

On Saturday night May 21, hundreds of members of that extended family came out to celebrate the university's 75th anniversary and history in grand style. The region's only university solely dedicated to health education and patient care put on an elegant recognition of its Diamond Jubilee at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.

Northwestern President Chris Cassirer welcomed guests and was the host for the evening. Much of the night had a 1940s theme, harking to the decade of the university's founding. But themes, history and accomplishments from all of Northwestern's decades were to be found at the event.

Funds raised through auctions and donations helped support Northwestern's mission—preparing the next generation of health professionals while delivering and advancing health care. The generous donations will support scholarship programs as well as university initiatives.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and to launch Northwestern on its next 75 years of health education and service.
