Northwestern is sponsoring clinical support for runners.
Clinicians and interns from Northwestern Health Sciences University will provide clinical support for runners at the 2014 Get in Gear event. Get in Gear is on April 25-26, and includes a 10k, 5k, 2k and half marathon. Northwestern is a producing sponsor.
“We are excited to demonstrate the benefits of therapeutic massage, kinesiology taping, and other conservative clinical interventions to Get in Gear runners,” said Dr. Tim Stark, dean of the College of Chiropractic. “It is an excellent opportunity for Northwestern to gain awareness in the Twin Cities athletic community.”
Massage therapists will offer complimentary massages to Get in Gear participants during the packet pick-up on April 25, and post-race massages on April 26. Chiropractic student interns will provide race-day support for runners, including pre- and post-race concerns and kinesiology taping.
