My interests include a variety of massage and healing modalities tailored to the specific needs of clients. Among these are rehabilitative massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial work, relaxation massage, pregnancy and post-partum massage, oncology massage, aromatherapy, Reiki and craniosacral therapy.
As a massage therapist at the Natural Care Center at Woodwinds, I provide care to many clients, as well as patients in Woodwinds Hospital who have specialized medical needs. Co-teaching Rehabilitative Massage I and 2, as well as supervising at the Burnsville Natural Care Center, have been rewarding ways for me to support students becoming confident in their massage therapy skills.
Integrative health care is also a continuing interest of mine. I was actively involved in the development of the Pillsbury House Integrative Health Clinic, in which both medical students and complementary and alternative medicine students provide care to a vibrant but underserved community in south Minneapolis. I also provided massage therapy for the Integrated Care for Low Back Pain Study, a randomized research clinical trial conducted by Northwestern’s Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies.
