…My role as a massage therapist is to mobilize tissue and encourage the flow of fluid which helps the body find balance and have access to its full range of motion. My pressure tends to be medium/firm, except in cases where it needs to be gentle to affect specific change or to meet certain client needs. I love to work through knots, especially in the shoulders and forearm, and I’m a big advocate for abdominal work to help encourage lymphatic return and break up any visceral adhesions that may be causing low back pain. I love working in an integrative care system and providing care to a variety of clients.”
Conditions I love to treat:
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Technology-related muscle issues
- Abdominal work to relieve low back pain
- Forearm conditions
- Edema General relaxation massage
Techniques & treatments I use:
- Clinical massage (can include trigger point therapy, cross fiber friction, myofascial techniques, passive ROM)
- Swedish relaxation massage (gliding, kneading, compression, rocking, holding, friction)
- Manual lymph drainage (gentle soft-tissue mobilization that enhances lymph circulation in the body and helps relieve edema)
On a personal note:
I used to struggle with constant bodily tension from technology use because of my decades-long career in social media strategy and marketing. Then I saw how massage therapy helped me find relief, and decided I’d rather be on the healing side of life, so here I am! Specifically, I love working with keyboard-jockeys and those who are chronically online to help relieve tension in the back, neck, and forearm, but I’m excited to work with all of our clients and apply my nerdy love of anatomy and massage techniques to help them reach their goals. In my free time, I like to knit, sew, play harp, and sing at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. My daughter and husband also keep me busy, and we often go camping, watch musicals, and play Dungeons and Dragons.
