The librarian can provide an overview of the services the library offers including how to find full text articles, how to search the collection, how to place an interlibrary loan request and information about the writing lab.
PubMed Training- PubMed training from basic to more advanced.
Other databases- The library offers other databases which can be covered briefly in conjunction with PubMed or as a tutorial on their own.
Mendeley- Mendeley is the citation management software recommended by the library. The web extensions, desktop apps, and write & cite functions help anyone working on larger projects simplify adding references to projects. This is offered as a workshop- check out the library Newsletter for future offerings.

There are no lawyers in the library but if you have questions about how you’re using images or articles in your classroom, we’d be happy to discuss how copyright law factors into what you can use and how to find alternative options to lessen the risk of potential violations.

Writing Lab
In the Writing Lab, you receive free, one-on-one assistance with term papers, essays and other assignments to help you develop your writing skills. We’ll point out where we see issues with your writing so you’ll learn how to make improvements.
How we will help you
Our experienced staff will assist you with all aspects of the writing process:
- Brainstorming ideas and outlining your paper
- Finding resources for your assignment
- Proofreading and editing
- Revising your paper for structure, flow, tense and grammar
For your session:
- Bring the instructions for your assignment
- Identify the specific areas that you’d like us to focus on
- Email your draft before you come in (if you have one) – we will review it if we have time
- Schedule a follow-up appointment, if needed
