What is the application process like?

International students follow the same application process as students from the United States; however, international students require additional documentation. This may include transcript evaluation, documentation of financial resources and more.

Does NWHSU have a reciprocity program?

NWHSU offers a Canadian tuition currency exchange adjustment for students accepted into our Doctor of Chiropractic program.

The reciprocity program adjusts tuition based on the currency exchange rate between the U.S. and Canada and can reduce tuition rates up to 25%. When you do your research, you’ll find that NWHSU is one of the most affordable U.S. chiropractic schools for Canadians!

Does NWHSU have on-campus or off-campus housing?

NWHSU offers several resources to help make your move to the area as seamless as possible. Our admissions team will guide you through housing options, including our housing newsletter and roommate finder resources.

While we do not have on-campus housing, however, there are many convenient options nearby. Be sure to check out our Chiropractic Zoom at Noon events or attend a Discovery Day to connect with current students and get your questions answered. An admissions counselor can help you register for our events!

How is student life on campus and in the Twin Cities?

For students attending NWHSU, life in the Twin Cities looks different every day and every season. There are endless places and activities to fill up a calendar, so there’s never a dull moment around Northwestern Health Sciences University! Our university is one of the few midwestern chiropractic schools in the U.S. Located in the suburbs of the Twin Cities (Bloomington, MN), we have a sizable, engaged Canadian student population!

Minneapolis-St. Paul is an exciting place to live that provides ample opportunities for exploration. It offers an extensive park system, recreational centers, adult hockey leagues, biking and hiking trails, and more. It is often ranked one of the best cities to live in the United States.

Applying and attending NWHSU was a very simple process that looks daunting at first glance. The staff at this school are unmatched, answering questions quickly and in depth. Use your resources and ask as many questions as you can! The best advice I have as a Canadian student to reduce your stress while attending school here is to bank with a company that banks both in Canada and America, such as RBC or BMO. Moving to a different country for school can be intimidating, but the community here at NWHSU makes the transition comfortable and will give you a sense of belonging!”
