Integrative Care Degree Overview

NWHSU offers a Master of Health Science in Integrative Care.

You can graduate in just one year or go at your own pace with a customizable schedule that works for you. We offer start dates in the fall, winter or summer. Most courses are seven weeks long. Take two courses at a time (full-time) to finish in just one year or take one course at a time (part-time) for a more flexible pace.

You’ll take 15 credit hours (5 courses) in core courses, and 15 credit hours (5 courses) in specialization courses.

Choose a Specialization that Fits Your Goals

Trauma-Informed Integrative Care

This track is built for practitioners, educators, and other professionals. It is for those who want to better understand how psychological trauma affects people both mentally and physically.

You’ll learn to adopt a trauma-informed approach. You will also explore the effect of culture and socioeconomic factors on trauma, addiction, and the mind-body relationship.

Integrative Health Coaching

This track prepares you to enter the growing field of health coaching. You’ll learn to support clients in making integrative lifestyle changes and living healthier lives. Our curriculum is a National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) approved training program and completers are eligible to sit for the board exam to become a NBC-HWC certified health coach.

Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching Overview

The Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching specialization consists of five online courses, two of which are fully asynchronous and three of which are a combination of required synchronous and asynchronous components. Four courses are designed as seven-week intensives, and the final course is a 15-week practicum, providing learners with all the practice sessions needed to become eligible for national board certification by National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Integrative Healthcare Administration

This track gives practitioners and administrators the skills and knowledge needed to be leaders in the healthcare industry. Learn how to communicate your ideas, gain support within your organization, and ultimately transform healthcare.

Who can apply?

We admit students on a rolling basis and offer six start dates each year.

The MHS in Integrative Care is designed for a variety of healthcare professionals and career changers who seek to transform healthcare to be innovative, equitable, and sustainable and need a graduate-level degree to advance their knowledge of integrative care.

AHNCC recognizes that the NWHS University-based program: Master of Health Science in Integrative Care is aligned with a philosophy grounded in whole person-centered, relationship-based, equitable holistic integrative care. With that understanding, AHNCC accepts these academic hours for applicants seeking AHNCC National Certification and certificants who need educational content to meet the continuing competency hours required for recertification of the holistic nursing or nurse coaching credentials.
