This session is part of a series of three independent workshops. Attendees are invited to join any session in the series. This interactive workshop focuses on balance confidence and safety. Our fall prevention facilitator and attendees will explore thoughts and beliefs around fall risk and prevention, provide tools for self-assessment, and identify pathways to develop greater confidence and resilience around fall safety.

7/13/26: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. VITALITY SERIES: Strong Back, Safe Care: Practical Strategies for Caregivers [1st Session – Discussion] (In-Clinic)

Does helping your spouse, friends or grandchildren sometimes require lifting, bending, or supporting? Strong Back, Safe Care is a two-part interactive workshop series of hands-on, practical tips to build physical capacity, reduce strain during caregiving tasks, and improve your confidence in back safety. You’ll learn strategies supported by research and guidance from leading health organizations.

This first session is conversational, providing you with important information and discussion around your experience. The second session (In-Clinic session listed below on 7/20) is a practical, hands-on class to allow you to practice what you learn. Anyone currently or anticipating a caregiver role with family or in their community is welcome to attend. The sessions can be attended in any order. Conversational Topics include: Caregiver Roles; Caregiver Burden Assessment; Safety Adaptive and Modified Activities; Caregiver Whole Person Health Sarcopenia; Osteoporosis; Dizziness; Chronic Conditions; Deprioritized Caregiver Wellbeing
