Evidence-Informed Care for Skin and Systemic Health

Microneedling and facial acupuncture both work by stimulating the body’s own repair mechanisms. Using very fine needles, these treatments encourage circulation, collagen production, and cellular renewal—while also promoting balance within the nervous, hormonal, and immune systems.

Microneedling and Facial Acupuncture Can:

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lift sagging eyelids and reduce bags and dark circles.
  • Improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity by increasing blood flow to the face, promoting healthy skin cell turnover.
  • Lift jowls and minimize double chin, improving muscle tone and increasing collagen and elastin
  • Tighten pores and improves the appearance of scars and age spots.
  • Reduce facial puffiness and swelling, by improving lymphatic drainage and metabolism and eliminating excess fluid.
  • Relieve jaw tension and facial muscle tightness.
  • Address acne and acne scarring by balancing hormones and promoting detoxification.
  • Support overall wellbeing by addressing whole body health (for example: digestion, hormones, stress).

What to Expect with Facial Acupuncture and Microneedling

Your session begins with a thorough assessment of your skin health, lifestyle, and overall well-being. You can choose between a facial acupuncture or microneedling appointment.

Facial Acupuncture

Facial acupuncture at Bloomington Clinic involves gentle, precise needle placement to stimulate key points on the face and body, supporting internal balance and external radiance. Session may also include facial gua sha or cupping.

Most treatment plans include 10-12 sessions, starting with two per week for two weeks, then weekly for the duration. We offer facial acupuncture packages to make this service more affordable. You can learn more about facial acupuncture on our blog.

Microneedling

Microneedling at Bloomington Clinic uses a medical-grade device to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving texture and firmness. During a microneedling session, we also do acupuncture to address underlying concerns, and may also include nanoneedling. Nanoneedling is a less invasive (non-penetravtive) technique for addressing more delicate areas of the face, such as your eyes and lips.

Most treatment plans include 3-6 treatments, one month apart. This allows your skin time to heal between treatments. We offer microneedling packages to make this service more affordable.
