Rachelle Clauson, BCTMB, CMT

understanding of the human body. As co-founder and co-director of AnatomySCAPES, Rachelle’s work is driven by the belief that seeing the profound beauty of our internal
landscape—the complex fascial architecture, intricate patterns, and tissue relationships—fundamentally changes how we touch. Through images and live demonstration, she uses the art of dissection to emphasize the human body’s tissue continuities, helping therapists move beyond “parts” to recognize the body as a living, integrated whole. Her teaching is grounded in over 20 years of clinical private practice at Flourish Bodywork, where she specializes in complex orthopedic issues and the physiological effects of everyday stress. Her integrative approach weaves together diverse modalities complemented by one-on-one self-care coaching. Rachelle’s expertise is informed by her work with the Fascial Net Plastination Project, a landmark international collaboration with the Fascia Research Society (FRC) and von Hagens Plastination (creators of Body Worlds). In her role as dissector and Director of Creative and Administrative Affairs, she helped facilitate and document the creation of the world’s first whole-body fascial plastinate. She is a contributing author to the medical textbook Fascia, Function and Medical Applications (2nd Edition, CRC Press 2025), a contributor to The Myofascial System in Form and Movement (Handspring 2023), and produced several of the specialized AnatomySCAPES’ dissection images which are featured in the second edition of Fascia: What It Is and Why It Matters (2nd Edition 2022). Through her “Anatomy for Touch” column, feature articles in Massage & Bodywork magazine and AnatomySCAPES’ advanced laboratory intensives, Rachelle translates complex anatomical data into practical clinical tools. By focusing on verifiable tissue architecture, she provides practitioners with the scientific clarity needed to elevate their clinical efficacy and professional standing within the healthcare community.
