Prospective Radiation Therapy Distance Education Student Instructions

NWHSU offers a Distance Education (DE) option for the Radiation Therapy program.

  • Students located 300+ miles from the NWHSU campus
  • Students who have a clinical affiliate site within a reasonable driving distance from home
  • Students must meet the 2.75+ GPA admissions requirement
    • Review all admissions requirements here

The DE program consists of:

  • Online, synchronous instruction
  • Online, synchronous lab instruction with Vert on Demand (student license is required)

Prospective Students for the NWHSU Radiation Therapy Distance Education track must complete 16 hours of shadowing before completing an application for admission. This requirement consists of two eight-hour shadowing experiences; however, you may complete your shadows at multiple clinics if the clinic cannot accommodate a full eight-hour session during a single visit.

Students are responsible for identifying one or two clinical sites and coordinating these shadowing experiences. When selecting sites, we strongly recommend considering locations where you may wish to complete your future clinical education. This approach provides valuable insight into the clinical environment and helps determine whether the site is an appropriate fit for your internship.
