The curriculum covers:
Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and postpartum recovery
Musculoskeletal and structural adaptations throughout pregnancy and after birth
Physiological, emotional, and psychological effects of stress on mother and baby
Contraindications and safety considerations, including high-risk pregnancies
Proper positioning and draping techniques for each trimester and postpartum stages
Techniques, stretches, and self-care strategies to support maternal well-being during pregnancy and after delivery
Common postpartum conditions, including diastasis recti, low back and pelvic pain, and muscular imbalances, and how massage can assist recovery
Supporting emotional and nervous system regulation during the postpartum period
The hands-on practicum provides guided practice for both prenatal and postpartum techniques, helping you confidently and safely support clients through pregnancy and their post-birth recovery. You will also explore strategies for integrating prenatal and postpartum services into your practice.
What to bring: writing materials, two sets of sheets, massage cream or oil, two standard bed pillows, and three pillowcases.
Meet the Instructor
Jenn Taylor is a Licensed Massage Therapist, NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider and Instructor (#1424), Nervous System Coach, Instinctive Meditation Coach, and Emotion Code Practitioner.
Since beginning her massage therapy career in 2006, Jenn has been passionate about helping others through both hands-on practice and education. In 2014, she expanded her work into continuing education, combining her love of teaching with her commitment to supporting the growth of fellow therapists.
Jenn is dedicated to providing current, practical, and evidence-informed education that therapists can immediately integrate into their practices. Her courses are designed to enhance clinical skills, expand therapeutic toolboxes, and build confidence in working with diverse client populations.
Drawing from her background in nervous system regulation and emotional well-being, Jenn believes that lasting change occurs when clients and practitioners address both the physical and emotional aspects of health.
Jenn is an Army veteran, wife, and mother of four who lives in Palm Coast, Florida. She is a lifelong learner with a passion for personal growth, wellness, and helping others thrive. When she is not teaching, coaching, or working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, learning, and spending time at the beach.
