Mina Anderson

Hello, my name is Mina Anderson, I am a trimester 6 student in the chiropractic program at NWHSU.

Where I’m from: I moved here from Swift Current, Saskatchewan. I completed my undergrad at the University of Saskatchewan, where I studied Kinesiology.

Why I choose NWHSU: I chose NWHSU because of the community, professors, and goals of the program. I felt at home from the first time I got here and their academic goals aligned with mine perfectly! I am involved in many clubs including student ambassador club, student senate, Canadian club, volleyball club, and Functional medicine club!

Favorite thing to do near campus: In my free time I love to explore the cities and go to as many sporting events as I can!

Derek Zahler

My name is Derek Zahler; I am a 5th trimester chiropractic student in the Sports Emphasis here at NWHSU.

Where I’m from: I am originally from Saint Michael, Minnesota. I did my undergrad at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where I studied Kinesiology.

Why I choose NWHSU: I chose Northwestern because I knew a number of alumni who highly recommended the school, as well as the amazing community, its focus on evidence-informed practice, and high board pass rates. It was also close to home for me, which was a big plus. One of the things, I really enjoy about NWHSU is the immense number of clubs on campus for anything you could be interested in. I am currently a member of Student Ambassador Club, Student Senate, Force Sensing, SACA Sports Council, volleyball club and ChiroGames club.

Favorite thing to do near campus: In my free time I like to watch sports with my friends from school, check out downtown Minneapolis and golf. The school’s location being so close to Minneapolis-St. Paul makes it incredibly easy to find fun things to do.
