Remembering Dr. Irvin C. “Jack” Holtz

We are saddened to share that Dr. Irvin C. “Jack” Holtz passed away on September 25, 2024. Dr. Holtz was a major presence in the early days of Northwestern College of Chiropractic and later Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). He served on the Board of Trustees for thirty years (1973-2003), including many years as chairman, guiding the school through challenges and growth.  

Dr. Holtz was honored in 2004 as the second recipient of the Brilliant Star Award at NWHSU, in recognition of his passion and commitment to the university for over 45 years.  

Service Information  

Dr. Jack Holtz’s memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. You can learn more in his obituary.  

Any gift made to NWHSU in Dr. Holtz’s memory will go towards student scholarships.

Dr. Holtz served in the U.S. Navy for four years, then came to Northwestern College of Chiropractic.   

After graduating, he practiced on West 7th Street for over 55 years, treating multiple generations of patients. He was active in the MCA and ACA and held many offices through the years. He was awarded Chiropractor of the year in 1980 and was the recipient of the Brilliant Star Award from NHSU in 2004. 

Through the years, Dr. Holtz remained connected to the school, and to Dr. John B. Wolfe. He was regarded as Dr. Wolfe’s closest friend and greatest confidant.
