The game will be played in the University’s gymnasium. The Chorale is promoting healthy living by hosting a sing-a-long concert in the Northwestern auditorium at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2009. Monday night’s Showcase Silver Central League game didn’t look good for Northwestern Health Sciences University’s club hockey team, the Naturals. The late start of the game (10:45 p.m.) and school work combined to reduce the number of Northwestern players who showed up at Mariucci Arena on Nov. 2 to five. That’s one player short of the six required to play hockey – and that doesn’t even cover substitutions. »MORE
Northwestern Health Sciences University once again falls far below the average national default rate of 6.5 percent and the regional default rate of 3.3 percent. Northwestern graduates had a low federal loan default rate of 0.3 percent once again this last trimester. Recent default rates have been as low as 0.2 percent or even 0.0 percent. “In layman’s terms that just means that graduates who have begun the repayment process on their federal loans are actually paying them,” said Andy Hoppin, director of financial aid. »MORE

It all started so well on Halloween night for Northwestern Health Sciences University’s collegiate club hockey team, the Naturals. Defenseman Mike Modich, T10 chiropractic, opened Northwestern’s game against the Gustavus Adolphus junior varsity team with a goal just 15 seconds into the first period on an assist from forward Jake Bohnen, T4 chiropractic.

The Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM) at Northwestern Health Sciences University is preparing for the last step in the college’s two-year long re-accreditation process. On Nov. 4-6, 2009, the University will host a team of four from the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), who were specifically chosen to review MCAOM. During their visit, they will meet and interview various faculty and staff, review student records, observe classes, and meet with students that have volunteered. »MORE

Doctors of chiropractic have been re-designated “physicians” according to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Plan (FEP), which was identified by President Obama as a template for future health care reform. This is the result of a drastic effort by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). A previous shift of chiropractors from “physicians” to “other health care providers” in the FEP took place in January 2009, causing the ACA to take action. »MORE

The Naturals, Northwestern Health Sciences University’s collegiate club hockey team, take a 3-1 record into their Oct. 31 game against the Gustavus Adolphus junior varsity team at Bloomington Ice Gardens (BIG). Northwestern expects to have a full squad on the ice for the first time this season to take on the Gusties, who are opening their season against Northwestern. The game begins at 7:15 p.m. on Rink 3 at BIG. »MORE
The Games will take place Nov. 7-8, 2009 in Cocoa Beach, Fla., and include 12 different sporting events such as co-ed beach volleyball, men’s golf, and women’s soccer. Nine chiropractic schools are scheduled to participate. More than 100 students from Northwestern are planning on competing in Chiro Games. Northwestern Health Sciences University is taking action against the H1N1 flu by ensuring that students and staff are aware of the illness, and what they can do to prevent it. The University is also working to be more accommodating when illness strikes by encouraging people who are sick to take the appropriate number of days off. »MORE

A dream three years in the making was realized as the Integrity Management Smart Center at Northwestern Health Sciences University was dedicated in a ceremony on Oct. 21, 2009. The newly constructed videoconferencing center was created with a $500,000 donation from Integrity Management. »MORE
In the fall of 2008, Northwestern Health Sciences University unveiled a new building – the Wolfe-Harris Center for Excellence – and the adjoining Standard Process Healing Garden. Both were a result of the $8 million “Imagine Our Future” Capital Campaign. In addition to the new construction, Northwestern also designated significant resources to renovating substantial areas of the original building in order to add thousands of square feet of classroom space. »MORE
