Three Northwestern Health Sciences University leaders received awards from the Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) at its state convention May 15-17, 2009. The President’s Award was given to Mark Zeigler, DC, president of Northwestern; Joseph Sweere, DC, College of Chiropractic professor, received the Educator of the Year award; and Kent Erickson, DC, '82, chair of Northwestern’s Board of Trustees, was named Chiropractor of the Year. »MORE

Two runners were neck-and-neck as they crossed the finish line in Northwestern Health Sciences University’s Back in Shape 5k race June 13, 2009. Josh Moen, age 27, of St. Louis Park, Minn., won the race with a time of 14:09.
The top-finishing female was Frashiah Waithaka, age 31, of Edina, Minn., finishing in 16:51.

Northwestern Health Sciences University’s club hockey team, the Naturals, posted their first win of the Summer Showcase Hockey League with an exciting 10-8 victory over the Naked Snowmen on June 7. The Naturals were the first team to beat the Naked Snowmen, who led the league with a 3-0-1 record before the loss to Northwestern. The Naturals are now 1-3 in the Summer Showcase Hockey League, which plays at Parade Ice Arena on Sunday nights this summer. »MORE

A stone engraver will be on campus next week, carefully chiseling names into a dozen pavers and stones in the Standard Process Healing Garden. The engraver will do the carving on-site, without removing the stones and pavers. The work is scheduled for June 8, 2009. »MORE
