About the Chiropractic College: Where Your Future Begins

Your journey toward professional achievement and personal satisfaction as a doctor of chiropractic begins at Northwestern College of Chiropractic, a visionary chiropractic school with an international reputation for excellence and innovation among the top chiropractic colleges.

At Northwestern, you will join a supportive community of students, faculty, administrators and staff who are committed to advancing an integrative model of natural health care which is patient-centered, informed through scientific evidence, and designed to meet the growing demands of our world's diverse populations.

We value the unique background, experience and skills that you bring to Northwestern. This is why we have limited enrollment and an 11-to-1 faculty-to-student ratio — to insure that you receive the individual attention and supportive educational environment that will help you succeed.

Our Program in Chiropractic Education: Our Focus is Excellence

You won't have to wait to learn chiropractic techiques at Northwestern. Our rigorous, well-balanced curriculum, firmly grounded in the basic sciences, begins with teaching you "hands-on" chiropractic techniques in your first trimester.

You'll benefit from an extraordinary clinical experience — learning and practicing evaluation skills, diagnostic techniques and a diverse array of chiropractic treatment methods in one of the most pioneering University public clinic systems in the world. Your real-world clinical training opportunities include:

  • A public clinic system which records more than 72,000 patient visits a year (making
    Northwestern the largest provider of natural health care services in Minnesota);
  • More than 150 internship sites in private practice clinics;
  • A range of clinical partnerships with community-based social service agencies; and
  • Final term preceptorship opportunities around the world.

You'll discover that the clinical, chiropractic and business education you'll receive at Northwestern is exceptional in preparing our students to successfully enter clinical practice and become community-minded leaders in their profession. More than 90 percent of Northwestern's students pass all four parts of the National Board Exams on their first attempt.

Our doctor of chiropractic program is a full-time day program consisting of more than 4,300 contact hours over 10 trimesters. Classes are held Monday through Friday. The University admits new students in January and September of each calendar year.

To further assist in achieving your educational goals, Northwestern also helps you:
