Kit Harlow, DC ’24 is not a new face on the blog. They’ve documented student club leadership, shared about their first year as an associate, and more. Now, they’re taking on a new role at NWHSU: Foot Levelers Clinical Chiropractic Resident. They’ll be writing about human performance, research, rehabilitation, and more.

After graduating from NWHSU in April 2024, I decided to remain in the metro area to practice. I’ve lived here for the past decade and had put down strong roots before pursuing my chiropractic career. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences in 2019.
During my education at NWHSU, I interned with Dr. Amy Horton in Bloomington Clinic. There, I was exposed to a diverse population of people and presentations. I found value in the trust she was freely given by her patients, with often rich and colorful interactions. Considering my involvement in SACA as treasurer, including co-leading and hosting a successful annual Student Leadership Conference here on campus in 2023, I had a hunch that my return would be inevitable.
After graduating from NWHSU’s chiropractic program, I moved neighborhoods to Uptown Minneapolis, where I had the pleasure living within six blocks from work. I’ve spent the last two years serving my neighbors, underserved residents and LGBTQ+ community members, as an associate Chiropractor. I feel very lucky to continue dedicating Friday mornings to my practice, contributing to NWHSU’s blog as a content writer, as well as serving on the communications committee with the Minnesota Chiropractic Association.
My Goals for the Foot Levelers Residency
With collaboration from my mentors within the HPC, including current sports residents Dr. Erica Millburn, Dr. Mikaela Lengwin and Dr. Kai Badua, I’m hoping to continue my physical rehabilitation education while delineating a clear path as the second Foot Leveler’s resident here at NWHSU.
Through teaching and mentorship, I intend to help shape future chiropractors as kind, compassionate and informed providers, and advocate for access to care for patients who are underserved, misrepresented and often misunderstood by our broader healthcare system.
As the Foot Leveler’s resident, I am looking forward to assisting in finishing current research on campus surrounding orthotics. I’m also excited to build my own research project with the plethora of technology, guidance, and wisdom at my disposal. It is a dream of mine to enter into health policy and advocacy and I look forward to the vast amount of knowledge not only to gain, but to share.
Thank you to my many mentors, friends and colleagues who have made my first week back on campus so warm and welcoming. I hope you look forward to hearing more about what we as residents accomplish here in the HPC. Be sure to return to the blog to stay updated!
