Telemedicine is defined by the American Academy of Family Medicine as practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance. A physician in one location uses a telecommunications infrastructure to deliver care to a patient at a distant site. With recent worldwide health events, we recognize more than ever that it is important to have the ability to support our patients more than just the traditional office visits.
