How to Apply to the Functional and Integrative Nutrition Programs

We are accepting applications for the Master of Health Science in Functional & Integrative Nutrition and the Doctor of Clinical Nutrition

Apply for the Master of Health Sciences in Functional & Integrative Nutrition for the following terms:

Entry Terms: Fall, Winter, and Summer – Sessions A (beginning of term) and B (middle of term)

  • Summer 2026 – Session B
    Session B Classes Start: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
  • Fall 2026
    Session A Classes Start: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
    Session B Classes Start: Wednesday, November 4, 2026
  • Winter 2027
    Session A Classes Start: Wednesday, January 6, 2027
    Session B Classes Start: Wednesday, March 3, 2027
  • Summer 2027
    Session A Classes Start: May 4, 2027
    Session B Classes Start: Wednesday, June 30, 2027

Apply for the Doctor of Clinical Nutrition in Functional & Integrative Nutrition for the following terms:

    • Fall 2026
      Session A Classes Start: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
    • Winter 2027
      Session A Classes Start: Wednesday, January 6, 2027
    • Summer 2027
      Session A Classes Start: May 4, 2027

We will accept applications up to two weeks before the start of the term, depending on class availability.

Step 1 – Complete application in online portal

The master and doctorate program have the same application process. Login to the Student Application Portal to start your online application for either program. At any time, you may save your application, logout, and complete it later. Statement of Purpose

Please submit a brief statement discussing the following questions. Know that there are no right or wrong answers. Completion of this one-page statement is part of the admissions process, but the content of your response will not be used to influence the admissions decision.

      1.  Why do you believe a functional approach to nutrition is interesting and important?
      2. What skills and/or strengths do you believe you would bring as a care provider?
      3. Please describe a situation in which you have had to overcome a professional or personal challenge in your life.
      4. What skills do you believe these challenges have taught you and how do you believe they will support you in the pursuit of a graduate degree?
Step 2 – Submit Transcripts

Request official academic transcripts from your bachelor’s degree-granting college or university and a college or university from which you have completed prerequisite courses to be sent directly to Northwestern Health Sciences University.  To request an official transcript, contact the Registrar’s Office at your prior institution(s). Transcripts from any previous graduate-level work are also required. Electronic transcripts should be sent to admit@nwhealth.edu or by mail to:
