Colleen Moore - Great River SymposiumColleen Moore LAc, DiplAc., Licensed Acupuncturist, NCCAOM Certified has been a pioneer in health education since 1986, having taught everything from group fitness (including yoga) to Oriental Medicine. Over the past 28 years, Colleen has delighted in the opportunity to teach students, professionals and members of the community. Colleen’s passion, and ability to distill and disseminate information make her an enthusiastic and gifted educator. In 1997 and 1998 she taught Acupressure and Introduction to Chinese Medicine at the College of St. Catherine. She was adjunct faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences University from 1996 to 2002, teaching Introduction to Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Point Location, Japanese Style Diagnostics and Treatment, and Chinese Food Therapy.

Today, Colleen is stoking the fires of her students at Northwestern Health Sciences University as a clinical supervisor. Colleen also works in the community teaching a variety of self-care classes intended to elevate men, women, and children to higher levels of health.

Colleen’s passion for holistic medicine first emerged through her studies at The College of St.Catherine. After graduating from The College of St. Catherine in 1988 with a BA in English and Certificates in both Health and Wellness Counseling and Holistic Therapies, she began her holistic medicine career as a practitioner of Jin Shin Do Acupressure. In 1993, she received her Masters of Oriental Medicine from the Minnesota School of Acupuncture and Herbal Studies and began her lifework of acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Women and children’s health, Japanese style acupuncture and 5 Element Theory are among Colleen’s specialties. These specialties have been highlighted in both her 26 years of private practice and in her teaching. Colleen’s most treasured and integral part of her career has been her ability to enlighten and empower others with the potency and wisdom of Oriental Medicine, through direct and practical ways of living in harmony with the Elements and one’s constitution. Colleen’s exuberant fire element is still burning strong with her mission to inspire and elevate everyone to radiant health and energy.
