Most Northwestern students are eligible for federal financial aid. To find out if you are eligible, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the U.S. Department of Education. If you have questions, our financial aid staff will assist you.

Complete Online Entrance Counseling for Federal Stafford Loans
You must complete online Entrance Counseling to obtain a Stafford Loan. Sign with your PIN.

Sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN)
To complete your Stafford Loan application process, you must sign a Master Promissory Note with your PIN.

Fill out your final documentation
These documents help us complete the final processing of your financial aid.
When to Apply for Federal Financial Aid
As a prospective student or current student, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Aid) after January 1 of the year you plan to enroll.
If filing taxes, wait until after you have filed.
Grants and Scholarships
Grants and scholarships are available for:
- College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
- College of Chiropractic
- School of Massage Therapy
Northwestern offers a variety of institutional and privately-funded scholarships to assist our students with financing their education.
Additional financial assistance is available through Federal Grants, the U.S. Grant and the International Scholarship.
