Moodle - Learning Management System

Office 365 email

Each student is provided an email account in NWHSU's Office 365. All official university emails are sent though the NWHSU email system and all students are expected to check their email regularly.

All students have access to eNorthwestern, a secure web portal which offers a variety of services, including viewing your course schedule and grades, and access to research journals. All students have access a personal network folder both on and off campus.

University Bookstore

The University Bookstore carries all the books, supplies and equipment you should need. If you can’t find something in the store, feel free to ask a bookstore staff person. If the bookstore doesn’t have it, they may be able to get it for you. There is no extra charge for special orders.

Students receive a 20% discount on many vitamin supplement lines. Look for the … (a line of dots) on the price tag to indicate those items.  

The bookstore also carries healthy and not-so healthy snacks and drinks, postage stamps, flash drives, discount movie tickets, Northwestern logo clothing, health and beauty items, water bottles, cheap scrubs (for the dissecting labs) and many other things you might not suspect would be carried in your University Bookstore.

Greenawalt Library

The Greenawalt Library offers specialized collections related to complementary medicine, medicine and basic sciences, off-campus access for numerous databases and over 30,000 e-journals, and many other specialized services.

The library has at least one copy of all required texts in Reserve for a 2-hour loan. There are also 14 A/V study rooms – you may reserve a room in the sign-up book at the Information Desk. Access to the online catalog, databases, e-journals and lots of other helpful resources are available on their website, Greenawalt Library.

You need your student ID to check out ANYTHING. Find out more information on borrowing and renewing.

Office of Student Affairs

We assist students throughout their academic program and provide an outstanding student life experience. Our many services include:

  • Peer and Group Tutoring: Peer and group tutoring is available free for any student. View the online list of tutors and the subjects they tutor - or pick up a list in the Office of Student Affairs. 
  • Study Skills/Writing Assistance: Our University Counselor will help you create an individualized study skills plan to address possible study skill deficits. Writing skills assistance is also available.
  • Personal Counseling: Personal counseling is available free for any student tp address any personal or academic concern.
  • Disability Services: If you have a documented disability, the Manager of Counseling and Disability Services will work with you and your faculty members to arrange reasonable accommodations during your education.
  • International Student Services: Provides information and guidance for all of Northwestern’s international students.
  • Veterans Services: As a veteran or active duty military personnel, we offer you the guidance, support and services you need for academic success.
  • Student Clubs/Organizations and Student Senate: All student clubs and organizations, as the well as the Student Senate, are housed in the Office of Student Affairs. If you are interested in starting or joining a club or joining the Student Senate, stop by the Student Affairs office or call 952-885-5405. View the list of student clubs and organizations.

Alumni and Career Services

The Office of Alumni and Development offers many support services for students. You may visit their office anytime, ask questions and they’ll get the answers for you – they want to get to know you while you’re here on campus.

Career Services

  • Alumni Mentor Program - Receive guidance and support from alumni out in the field.
  • Job Shadow Program - Spend a day shadowing a future colleague. For more information, call 952-888-4777, ext. 163.
  • Career Exploration Day - Seek out opportunities through job fairs and direct contact with employers and learn about the products and services of your profession.
  • Practice Success Seminars - Practitioners and professionals in the field offer on-campus seminars to enhance your business and practice success.
  • Career Services Consultants - Meet with consultants to explore your practice options, discuss business and legal questions, and review resumes and business plans. To schedule an appointment, call 952-888-4777, ext. 163 
  • Job Search Assistance - If you’re searching for a job opportunity, our staff will work with you on filling out a student profile. Call 952-888-4777, ext. 163 
  • Demographic Search Resource - View the demographics and population of an area in the U.S. where you would like to practice. You will need a school code and access code - call 952-888-4777, ext. 163.
  • Practice Classifieds - Utilize our online employment listings if you’re searching for a position or practice opportunity, or equipment for sale.

Networking opportunities

  • Alumni Events - Attend our annual alumni events to network with our alumni practitioners and meet our Alumni Association Board Members to learn about what you need to know to be successful in your future practice.
  • Volunteer - Have some fun and make a difference by volunteering at one of our alumni fundraising events or community events. For more information, call 952-888-4777, ext. 163.

Fitness Center

Equipment in our Fitness Center includes free motion machines, free weights, guided machines, treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machine, Stairmaster, spin machines, stationary bikes, medicine balls, yoga mats, and much, much more.

The fitness center is not open to the public. You must be a student to utilize Northwestern's Fitness Center.

Swimming Pool

The pool depth ranges from 3 feet to 10 feet.

Saturday-Sunday  7:00 a.m.-9:30 p.m.


Our gym is equipped with full and half-court basketball configurations and glass backboards. You may use the gym when not in use by scheduled classes or other programming. Check availability.
