Dr. Chris Cassirer Named as New President

Dr. Cassirer will join Northwestern in late July.
Northwestern Health Sciences University is pleased to announce that Dr. Chris Cassirer will be its new President.
Dr. Cassirer brings excellent academic credentials and a wealth of experience in higher education and healthcare that will help drive growth and success for Northwestern. His professional experience spans traditional non-profit, online and for-profit university management. He has led teams of faculty and administrative colleagues, driven strategic planning processes, designed and implemented new academic and professional programs, launched new schools and worked through specialized and regional accreditation processes.
Most recently, Dr. Cassirer was Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Management and Business at National Louis University. Previously he held faculty and executive positions at Capella University including University President. Before Capella, he was a professor at The George Washington University and the University of Minnesota.
He has a strong commitment to lifelong learning. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Rutgers University, he earned a Master of Public Health degree from Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Cassirer went on to earn a Doctor of Science degree from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
“I am looking forward to joining Northwestern Health Sciences University,” Dr. Cassirer said, “and am excited to begin working with the staff and faculty to help lead this institution, build new programs, and to continue to provide an excellent academic, clinical and professional experience for students and patients.”
Dr. Cassirer will join Northwestern on July 28.
