Radiation Therapy Application Dates & Deadlines

The Radiation Therapy program is competitive, and space is limited each term. Please apply for the Radiation Therapy program during the application cycles listed below.

Step 1 – Login to the application portal

Login to the Student Application Portal to start your online application. At any time, you may save your application, logout, and complete it later.

Please note, people interested in the Distance Education track must complete the Radiation Therapy Distance Education Steps prior to submitting an application for admission.

Application fee
There is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee required with submission of your application.

Request official transcripts
Have your official academic transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions (including colleges, universities, vocational/technical schools and PSEO credits) sent directly to Northwestern Health Sciences University. To request an official transcript, contact the Registrar’s Office at your prior institution(s). Transcripts from any previous graduate-level work are also required. Electronic transcripts should be sent to admit@nwhealth.edu or by mail to:

References
Provide the name, email, and phone number for two references who you have known for at least six months. An email address and phone number is required, so please have this information available when you apply.

References from science instructors and other healthcare professionals are preferred, provided they know you well. Northwestern will send instructions to these people on how to submit a reference. Relatives are not accepted as references.

Radiation Therapy Shadow and Essay Requirements – On-Campus Track

  • Complete eight hours of adequate shadowing
  • Upon completion of your shadow experience(s), submit an essay, between 700 – 1000 words:
    • Part 1: Tell us about your background and what you feel is pertinent to your continued education and future profession.
    • Part 2: Describe the responsibilities and key skills required for a radiation therapist. Based on your shadow experience, describe what characteristics would make a successful Radiation Therapist and why you feel you would be a good fit for this program

Radiation Therapy Shadow and Essay Requirements – Distance Education Track

  • Complete the Distance Education Steps, including sixteen hours of adequate shadowing
  • Submit your application for admission following completion of the Distance Education steps
  • Upon completion of your shadow experience(s), submit an essay, between 700 – 1000 words:
    • Part 1: Tell us about your background and what you feel is pertinent to your continued education and future profession.
    • Part 2: Describe the responsibilities and key skills required for a radiation therapist. Based on your shadow experience, describe what characteristics would make a successful Radiation Therapist and why you feel you would be a good fit for this program
