Bike, walk or carpool to work or school, and win prizes!

The Northwestern campus community is invited to take the Commuter Challenge 2013, sponsored by MetroTransit. Between now and June 30, take the bus or train, bicycle, carpool, walk, telecommute or vanpool at least once instead of driving alone and be entered to win prizes.

Prizes include: Amazon Kindle Fire (6); Galaxy Tab (4); Wii U (3); monthly drawings for $100 Target gift cards; and one grand prize, a Galaxy Note.

Bike Walk Week is June 9-15

Coinciding with the Commuter Challenge is Bike Walk Week June 9-15. Organized by the 494 Corridor Commission, the week is designated for awareness of traffic-reducing alternative transportation methods. The commission is hosting a Bike to Work Day celebration at REI in Bloomington on Thursday, June 14 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., with food, music and free bike safety checks.
